Course:
The course is moderately hilly with total elevation change (climbing) of 627'. The course is a 6.87 mile (13.74 mile total), out-and-back course on a good secondary road -- Route 102.
The course starts at the Tremont Community Center and proceeds north on Route 102 to the northern intersection of the Cape Road and Route 102 and returns to the Community Center. The intersection at Cape Road allows a wide place in the road for a turn around with good visibility in all directions.
This is an open course.
Racers ride with traffic and are solely responsible for their own safety at all times.
Helmets are required.
No support vehicles or parking are allowed on the course.
Drafting is strictly prohibited.
Race Director's decision in all matters is final.
Release forms must be signed prior to racing.
Written parental consent is required for persons under 18 years of age.
Parking and Registration:
Start and Finish Area/Registration/Parking is located at the Tremont Community Center on Rt. 102 near Bass Harbor
The address for the Tremont Community Center is: 119 Tremont Road Bass Harbor.
SAVE $5 AND REGISTER EARLY! Pre-registration through BikeReg and by mail is $15 until 6 PM Saturday, August 20. On site and registration after August 20 is $20.
Registration is at 8:00 AM
First start is at 9:00 AM
Directions:
From the north: - Cross the bridge onto Mount Desert Island and bear right at the light in front of the Parkadia General Store. Proceed 1.8 miles and take a right onto the Indian Point Road. If you get to the Town Hill General Store, you have gone a few hundred yards too far. Drive 5.7 miles on the Indian Point Road to a stop sign. Go left for 0.2 mile and then bear right onto Rt 102. In 1.6 miles, you will be on the race course. In another 6.9 miles you will see the Tremont Community Center on your left. Directions
