THOMAS AND MCNETT WIN STATE CHAMPS!

The twelfth and final time trial of the series was held under sunny and breezy skies in Vassalboro and 47 people came out to test their strengths on the 12.6 mile rolling course. Fred Thomas took the overall win once again by averaging an astonishing 27.6 mph and finishing in 22.27 minutes with Ron Bourgoin right on his heels and capturing second with a time of 22:42. Andy Haskell won third place with a time of 23:42.

The women's division was even closer with Cindy McNett and Chess McGee continuing their season-long fight for the wins. McNett took another win by averaging 23.7 mph and finishing the course in 26.06 with McGee finishing only four seconds later with a time of 26.10 putting her in second place. Cynthia Snow won third place by finishing in 29.29.

All racers enjoyed a delicious barbecue during the festive awards ceremony, complete with podium and medals. A huge thank you goes out to Dave Richard and Central Maine Cycling Club for hosting this race. Everyone enjoyed it so much and I think we can look forward to more of the same festive atmosphere in next year's races.
